GETFund Opens Postgraduate Local Scholarship Applications for 2025/26 Academic Year



The Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) has announced the opening of applications for its Postgraduate Local Scholarship scheme for the 2025/26 Academic Year. The opportunity is available to applicants pursuing Master’s and PhD programmes within Ghana.

Applications officially opened on Tuesday, 20th January 2026, and will close on Friday, 20th February 2026. Interested applicants are encouraged to complete their submissions within this period.

Application Process

All applicants must visit the GETFund website to access the official scholarship application portal. Applications are to be completed online, with candidates required to provide all necessary information and upload scanned copies of the required documents for vetting and shortlisting.

Only applicants who are shortlisted will be contacted after the vetting process has been concluded. Full details regarding application procedures and requirements are available directly on the application portal.

Important Notice to Applicants

All communication regarding the scholarship will be conducted strictly between GETFund and the applicants. Applications will be accepted only through the official scholarship application portal.

GETFund has not engaged the services of any individual or organization to act as an intermediary in the scholarship process. Any person or group claiming to facilitate the acquisition of the scholarship should be reported immediately to the nearest Police Station.

Applicants Not Eligible

Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) enrolled in public tertiary institutions are not eligible to apply under this scholarship scheme. However, PWD applicants may seek financial support through the Students Loan Trust Fund, which is a government initiative designed for PWD support.
