The Ministry of Finance has approved the release of funds to address outstanding issues relating to the Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG).
This follows earlier correspondence from the Ministry of Education dated 4th November, 2025, concerning unpaid arbitral awards.
According to the official authorization dated 26th January, 2026, a total amount of GH₵43,077,890.22 has been approved for disbursement.
The funds are intended to fully settle outstanding obligations owed to CETAG members as determined by rulings from the National Labour Commission (NLC).
Breakdown of CETAG Outstanding Issues
The approved amount covers compensation for additional duties, book and research allowance top-ups, and a delayed research allowance payment linked to a specific college of education. Details of the outstanding items are outlined below.

Funding Source and Compliance Requirements
The total approved expenditure of GH₵43,077,890.22 is to be charged to the 2026 Compensation of Employees Vote under the Ministry of Education, in line with the attached specific warrant.
The Chief Director of the Ministry of Education has also been reminded to ensure full compliance with the Public Procurement Act, the Public Financial Management Act, 2016 (Act 921), and all other relevant public financial management regulations in implementing the payments covered by this release.
