The National Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education in Ghana (PRINCOF) has officially announced a change in the resumption date for public Colleges of Education across the country.
In a communication addressed to all principals, PRINCOF explained that the reopening of public Colleges of Education, which was initially planned for Monday, 19th January 2026, has now been moved to Monday, 9th February 2026.
According to PRINCOF, the decision to adjust the academic calendar is intended to allow sufficient time for preparation ahead of the reopening. The new date will enable institutions to complete necessary internal arrangements to support a smooth start to teaching and learning activities.
The leadership of PRINCOF acknowledged that the change in schedule may cause inconvenience to some stakeholders. However, the organisation expressed appreciation for the understanding and cooperation of principals, staff, and students during this period.
Principals have been advised to promptly communicate the updated resumption date to their respective staff and student bodies to ensure that academic and administrative plans are adjusted accordingly.
PRINCOF reaffirmed its commitment to promoting excellence in teacher education and thanked stakeholders for their continued support.
The notice was issued and signed by Dr. Samuel Addae-Boateng, General Secretary of PRINCOF, on behalf of the leadership of the conference.
