GES Schedules Supplementary Aptitude Test for 2025 Teacher Promotion

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the organisation of a supplementary aptitude test for teachers who were unable to participate in the 2025 teacher promotion aptitude examination.

According to the Service, the decision is meant for qualified teachers who duly applied for the 2025 promotion aptitude test but could not sit for it due to circumstances beyond their control. Management has therefore made arrangements to ensure that affected candidates are given another opportunity through a supplementary examination.

The supplementary aptitude test is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, 17th February 2026, and will commence at exactly 9:00am.

For effective administration, the examination centres have been categorised into four zones across the country. Candidates from the Ahafo, Ashanti, Bono and Bono East regions will write the test at Wesley College of Education in Kumasi. Those from the Central, Western and Western North regions have been assigned to the NLT, University of Cape Coast in Cape Coast. Teachers from the Eastern, Greater Accra, Oti and Volta regions will take the examination at Accra College of Education, Accra, while candidates from the North East, Northern, Savannah, Upper East and Upper West regions will write at Tamale College of Education in Tamale.

GES further indicated that index numbers for all candidates will be sent directly to them via text message by Monday, 9th February 2026.

Management has extended its best wishes to all candidates ahead of the examination and encouraged them to prepare adequately for the exercise.
