The general public has been informed that Friday, March 20, 2026, and Saturday, March 21, 2026, have been designated as statutory public holidays to mark the celebration of Eid-Ul-Fitr and Shaqq Day.
However, since March 21, 2026, falls on a Saturday, an additional holiday has been declared.
In accordance with Section 2 of the Public Holidays and Commemorative Days Act, as amended, the President of the Republic of Ghana has issued an Executive Instrument (E.I) declaring Monday, March 23, 2026, as an extra public holiday to be observed nationwide.
This announcement was signed by Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, Minister for the Interior, on March 13, 2026.
