The Ministry of the Interior has announced the release of funds for the payment of outstanding rent allowances for personnel of the Ghana Prisons Service, Ghana National Fire Service, and Ghana Immigration Service.
According to the Ministry, the funds cover rent allowance arrears for the year 2025 and will be paid to eligible officers across the three services. The Ministry expressed appreciation to affected personnel for their patience and understanding during the period of delay.
In addition, the Ministry has introduced a mechanised system for processing rent allowance payments. Beginning March 2026, rent allowances will be handled and paid alongside officers’ monthly salaries.
The Ministry reaffirmed its dedication to the welfare of all personnel under its supervision and indicated that it will continue working closely with the Ministry of Finance and other relevant stakeholders to ensure that all entitlements are paid promptly.
