GES Clarifies Graduate Recruitment Status Notice — Beware of Fake Messages

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has issued an important clarification regarding a recruitment notice currently circulating among graduate teachers and diploma holders awaiting posting.

According to GES, the widely shared message, which urges applicants to submit their forms via a WhatsApp “Help Desk” number to secure placement or check their recruitment status, is completely false. The message has been spreading across social media platforms and has caused concern among applicants.

The misleading notice claims that individuals who applied for the recent recruitment exercise should forward their application details to a specific WhatsApp number for follow-up. It also suggests that due to limited placement opportunities, applicants must act quickly to increase their chances of being selected. Additionally, it encourages those who faced challenges during the application process to contact the so-called Help Desk for assistance.

GES has firmly denied these claims and has cautioned the public to disregard the message entirely.

Key Facts About the Circulating Notice

It Is Fake

GES has confirmed that the notice is fraudulent. The Service does not use private WhatsApp numbers to handle recruitment processes, follow-ups, or postings.

False Claims of Limited Slots

The message attempts to create urgency by stating that only a few positions are available. This is a common tactic used by scammers to pressure applicants into making quick decisions, often involving payment of unauthorized fees. GES recruitment is strictly based on official approval and merit, not influence or shortcuts.

Use Only Official Channels

Applicants are advised to rely solely on official GES communication platforms, including the recruitment portal and verified social media pages, for accurate and reliable updates.

Protect Your Personal Information

GES has also warned applicants not to share sensitive documents such as certificates, application forms, or personal data with unknown contacts or unofficial numbers.

Stay Alert and Informed

Applicants are encouraged to remain vigilant and avoid falling victim to recruitment scams. Sharing this information with others who applied for the GES recruitment can help prevent further spread of the fraudulent message and protect more people from being misled.
