The general public is informed that Wednesday, 1st July 2026, which marks Republic Day, is a statutory public holiday in Ghana.
However, since 1st July 2026 falls on a Wednesday, His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Ghana, has exercised his authority through an Executive Instrument (E.I.), in accordance with Section 2 of the Public Holidays and Commemorative Days Act (Act 601), as amended, to declare Friday, 3rd July 2026, as a public holiday.
As a result, Friday, 3rd July 2026, will be observed as a public holiday throughout the country.
This announcement was signed by Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak (MP), Minister for the Interior, and issued on 24th June 2026.
