The Ministry of Education has announced that the Honourable Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, and the Deputy Minister for Communications and Digital Technology, Mohammed Adams Sukparu, are in stable condition following a road traffic accident.
According to a statement issued on 12th February 2026, the accident involved their convoy along the Bolgatanga–Tumu Road. The incident occurred while the Ministers and their teams were travelling to attend official events marking the 40th anniversary celebrations of Tumu College of Education and Jahan College of Education in the Upper West Region.
The statement confirmed that all members of the convoy are currently stable and are receiving the required medical care.
The Office of the Minister also extended appreciation to emergency personnel, healthcare workers, and members of the public for their prompt response and support. It further indicated that additional information will be shared if necessary.
