Nalerugu Nurses and Midwifery College Principal Suspended



The Minister for Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has ordered the immediate suspension of the Principal of the Nurses and Midwifery Training College in Nalerugu.

This decision was taken during the Minister’s official working tour of the Upper East, North-East, and Northern Regions. As part of the visit, he inspected health facilities and training institutions to evaluate their operations and overall service delivery.

Prior to arriving at the college, the Minister had received reports concerning unauthorized admissions at the institution. Following his visit and preliminary assessments, he directed that the Head of the College be suspended with immediate effect while further investigations are carried out.

The Minister emphasized that compliance with established admission procedures is mandatory. He cautioned that any institutional head found to be involved in unauthorized practices would be subjected to strict disciplinary measures.

He also reiterated the Ministry’s dedication to ensuring transparency, accountability, and the upholding of high standards across all health training institutions nationwide.
