The Ghana Education Service has officially communicated to all Regional Directors that approval has been granted for the payment of outstanding salary arrears linked to the utilization of the 2024 financial clearance.
This directive follows a reference to a letter from the Ministry of Finance Ghana addressed to the Controller and Accountant-General's Department regarding the same matter.
According to the information provided, the Ministry of Finance has authorized the Controller and Accountant General’s Department to settle salary arrears owed to eligible GES staff covering the period from 1st August 2024 to November 2025.
The payment of these arrears will be carried out in five instalments, following a structured schedule. Under this arrangement, four months’ worth of arrears will be paid each month beginning in May, followed by June, July, and August, with each of these months covering an equal portion of the outstanding payments.
Regional Directors have been instructed to ensure that this information is promptly communicated to all Heads of Schools so that eligible staff are fully informed about the payment arrangement.
The notice was issued and signed by Prof. Smile Dzisi, Acting Deputy Director-General (Management Services), on behalf of the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service.
