The Ghana Scholarships Authority has announced that government has released first quarter allocations to support the payment of outstanding scholarship arrears for Ghanaian beneficiaries studying in the United Kingdom and other countries.
According to the Authority, the release of the funds forms part of ongoing efforts to gradually address delays in the payment of tuition fees and stipends for sponsored students abroad.
The Authority acknowledged the concerns raised by beneficiaries over the delays and expressed regret over the difficulties caused. It stated that government remains committed to the welfare of Ghanaian students studying outside the country.
The statement further noted that the Authority is working closely with all relevant stakeholders to ensure that the payments are processed quickly and to reduce similar delays in the future.
Beneficiaries have been encouraged to remain calm and continue with their academic activities while the Authority works to settle all outstanding obligations.
