The National Service Authority (NSA) has officially announced the opening of applications for PIN Codes for the 2026/2027 service year. This opportunity is specifically available to defaulters, private candidates, and individuals who obtained their tertiary education outside the country.
According to the Authority, this exercise is intended for Ghanaian graduates who, after completing their studies, were unable to undertake their mandatory national service in previous years. It also extends to foreign-trained graduates seeking to enroll in the program.
Applicants are required to complete their registration online by visiting the official NSA website and following the outlined procedures.
To begin the process, candidates must select the “Apply for PIN Code” option and fill out the online application form. Afterward, they are expected to upload the necessary documents, which include a formal request letter for a PIN Code or reactivation addressed to the Director-General, as well as an introductory or attestation letter from their institution.
In addition, applicants must provide a certified copy of their school certificate along with their academic transcript, or an original transcript. A copy of the Ghana Card and student ID is also required, while foreign-trained applicants must submit a copy of their passport.
A processing fee of GHC50.00 is to be paid online to complete the application stage.
Following the online submission, applicants are instructed to present the original copies of their documents at the nearest NSA office, either at the Head Office or a Regional Office, for verification. This process takes place during official working hours from 8:30am to 4:30pm on weekdays, excluding public holidays.
The Authority further emphasized that under the National Service Authority Act, 2024 (Act 1119), all Ghanaian citizens who have completed tertiary education are required to undertake national service as part of their obligation to the state.
The notice was officially endorsed by the Director-General, Ruth Dela Seddoh, and distributed to all media houses.
