GTEC Releases List of Unrecognised Institutions as of June 2026


The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) has issued a public notice informing the general public about institutions that are currently not recognised by the Commission as of June 2026.

According to GTEC, the institutions listed in the notice are not recognised due to various quality assurance concerns. The Commission therefore advises individuals and organizations to exercise caution when dealing with certificates and qualifications issued by these institutions.

The list includes institutions from different countries, including Ghana, the United States, the United Kingdom, India, Switzerland, Nigeria, Mexico, Italy, Zambia, Liberia, Barbados, France, Guyana, Cambodia, Costa Rica, Germany, Andorra, Ireland, Cyprus, and Turkiye.

Among the institutions named are Universidad Azteca (Mexico), Atlantic International University (USA), Faith University Seminary (Ghana), Doxa Open University (Ghana), Quest International University (Ghana), Kingdom Living Bible Institute (Kumasi), Global Professional College (Effiduase), Volta University College (Ghana and Nigeria), OAA Consulting Limited (Kumasi), and Competency School of Business Administration (COSBA), Kumasi.

GTEC stated that these institutions are presently not recognised by the Commission and urged the public to conduct the necessary checks before relying on any certificates issued by them.

The notice was issued by the Corporate Affairs Directorate of the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) on Thursday, 25th June 2026.
