The National Service Authority (NSA) has officially announced the release of postings for 18,416 trained teachers for the 2026/2027 national service year. This announcement was made on April 22, 2026, as part of efforts to enable qualified graduates to begin their mandatory national service.
According to the Authority, the postings cover individuals who have successfully completed their studies at accredited Colleges of Education. These candidates are now eligible to proceed with the enrollment process for their service year.
All affected personnel are required to visit the NSA’s official website at https://nss.gov.gh/home and access the portal to check their assigned postings. After confirming their placement, candidates must follow the outlined procedures to complete their regional validation.
The national service period for the 18,416 trained teachers is scheduled to commence on Monday, May 4, 2026. However, the regional validation exercise begins earlier, starting from Wednesday, April 22, 2026, and ending on Friday, May 15, 2026. Prospective service personnel are strongly encouraged to complete this validation within the specified timeframe.
The Authority also reiterated that under the National Service Authority Act, 2024 (Act 1119), it is a legal requirement for all Ghanaian citizens aged 18 years and above who have completed an accredited tertiary institution—including universities and teacher training colleges—to undertake national service.
The statement was officially signed by the Director-General, Ruth Dela Seddoh.
